The Things We Keep Postponing
Hey,
I was talking with someone recently who mentioned a candle she'd been saving.
Not for anything specific.
Just for later.
I laughed because many of us do this. We save things.
The nice lotion.
The favorite notebook.
The special tea.
The good towels.
Sometimes we even save parts of our lives for a version of ourselves we imagine will have more time, less stress, or fewer responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the weeks keep passing.
The funny thing is, most of us already know life isn't going to suddenly become perfect and uncomplicated.
There will always be laundry.
There will always be emails.
There will always be something asking for our attention.
Maybe that's why the small things matter.
Not that they are life-changing. Because they make ordinary days a little easier to enjoy.
And ordinary days are what most of life is made of.
I'm Giving Myself Permission. Join Me?
This week, I'm giving myself permission to break the mold.
Tonight, consider lighting the candle, using the favorite mug, or reaching for the favorite towel. Enjoy something you've been saving for later.
It doesn't need to be a special occasion. Do it just because it's your favorite for a reason.
Stay Steady, 👣
